Happy Ending to a Good Week’s Work

John Ropes started panning for gold in the horse racing industry 40 years ago. He bought a racehorse, Happy Saver, who has been incredibly successful. Ropes made a smart decision to breed Happy Saver’s dam, Happy Week, to an A.P. Indy-line sire, resulting in the talented colt. Despite offers to buy the mare, Ropes plans to keep her as a foundation mare for his program. He is also preparing to sell Happy Saver’s little sister, Happy Charger, at auction. Ropes credits his successful program to his honest and dedicated team, including agent Marette Farrell. He acknowledges the unpredictable nature of the horse business but remains dedicated to pursuing success in the industry.
